Core Civil Mining delivers specialist structural, mechanical, and piping (SMP) services across Western Australia's mining and mineral processing industries. We provide end-to-end SMP construction for new processing plants, plant expansions, and brownfield modifications — from structural steel fabrication and erection through to mechanical equipment installation, pre-commissioning, and process piping. Our SMP teams work alongside principal contractors, engineering firms, and owner-operators to meet programme milestones and deliver code-compliant installations on active mine sites across the Goldfields, Pilbara, and Mid-West regions of WA.
Our structural steel capability covers the fabrication, supply, erection, and final alignment of structural frameworks, platforms, stairways, handrails, grating, and support steelwork for mineral processing facilities, concentrate handling systems, reagent plants, and mine surface infrastructure. We engage certified welders, rigging crews, and steel erectors with demonstrated experience on WA mining and resources projects, delivering structural steel packages on programme and to the tolerances stipulated by project structural engineers. All welding is performed in accordance with AS/NZS 1554 and project weld inspection programs.
Core Civil Mining's mechanical installation scope encompasses equipment setting, precision alignment, grouting, bolting, and pre-commissioning of conveyors, screens, jaw crushers, cone crushers, ball mills, SAG mills, pumps, agitators, thickeners, filter presses, and related process equipment. Our mechanical superintendents manage equipment receipt, warehouse storage, pre-assembly, and installation in close coordination with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), ensuring every installation meets design specifications and warranty obligations. Process piping installation covers spool fabrication, support design and fabrication, field fit-up, non-destructive testing (NDT), hydrostatic testing, and insulation for slurry, reagent, water supply, compressed air, and steam service pipelines across the full range of mineral processing applications.
All SMP construction activities are executed under Core Civil Mining's integrated HSEQ management system, with complete quality documentation packages including material traceability certificates, weld inspection records, NDT test reports, alignment records, and pre-commissioning checklists. We hold all required trade licences and maintain current competency records for all specialist SMP personnel.
